The Dorgard can usually be fitted in around 5 minutes - to the face of the door that closes against the door frame. It has a foot plunger with a rubber ferrule on one end that comes into contact with the floor when the foot plunger is pushed downwards. Operated with either foot or hand, the rubber ferrule will grip the floor and hold the fire door open in the desired position. When the fire alarm sounds it will release its grip on the floor and allow the fire door to be closed by the closer.
To close the door manually, simply tap the top of the foot plunger backward - towards the door.
